LINC has developed from an idea by a group of young mums who were challenged to make a difference in their community. They began by providing a few people with a meal and a 'chat' in one of their homes. From these humble beginnings LINC has developed and blossomed and now provides an opportunity for over 60 people of all ages, from all over the parish and from a variety of backgrounds, to come together each week for a lovely meal and to enjoy each other's company.
People are given lifts and even brought by wheel chair, and for many elderly people LINC is the highlight of their week. As well as the weekly LINC meal there are 'special' lunches for Easter, Harvest and Christmas when every effort is made to welcome as many people as possible.
LINC (Love in the name of Christ) is open every Wednesday, except during the school holidays, for snacks and light lunches. Everybody is more than welcome to come along and partake in our delicious homemade food.
LINC is run entirely by volunteers who also make all the food. All our kitchen helpers have attained Basic Food Hygiene Certificates. Please come along and join us one Wednesday, I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by our high standards.
