Leprosy Mission

St. Mary's supports The Leprosy Mission - an international Christian charity, founded in 1874 and now working in over 30 countries of the developing world.
Through prayer and giving, we help to further the Leprosy Mission's purpose 'to minister in the name of Jesus Christ to the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs of individuals and communities disadvantaged by leprosy - working with them to uphold human dignity and eradicate leprosy.

The Leprosy Mission Stamps and Collectables
A grand total of £61,650.06 was raised in 2005. Not only another record annual total was achieved, but since 1984 over half a million pounds has been raised through the sale of Stamps and Collectables. Thank you.
This should encourage everyone to continue collecting to help increase this success. The work among leprosy sufferers is far from over and they still need practical, social and spiritual support today. So please KEEP ON STAMPING!
If stamps could be trimmed with no more than 5mm single paper on, with a small amount of paper showing round each stamp, this would enable them to be sold more quickly.
Collections of stamps are welcomed, on sheets or in albums, first day covers or even those floated off paper, but please do not mix these with stamps on paper.
Other things collected are Postcards, used or unused, old notes and coins, Cigarette cards, Medals, old matchbox covers, and anything (small) considered collectable.
A box is provided for gifts at the back of church.
