CYFA
The CYFA (Church Youth Fellowship Association) exists to help nurture the Christian faith in 14 to 18 year olds. This group is led by practising Christian adults who have signed a declaration in accordance with the Church's Child Protection Policy.
St. Mary's CYFA group meets at 11am on Sunday morning in a friendly relaxed atmosphere in the foyer of the Church Hall, except for the first Sunday in the month when we attend the Church Communion service.
CYFA are aged from 14 years upwards and usually join the group following Confirmation. The teaching is Bible-based, with a balanced and lively programme of worship, learning and prayer using videos, active discussion and inviting outside speakers.
CYFA are encouraged to take an active role in Church worship, using their musical talents, acting, reading the Gospel and leading prayer.
CYFA enjoy fund raising and have raised considerable amounts of money for many needy causes.
Socially CYFA enjoy weekends away at Bala, ice-skating, Barbeques, video suppers and quizzes.
We have three CYFA leaders who recognise the potential of our youth. Listening ears, commitment and most of all, prayer, make youth work an exciting challenge for God's kingdom.
