What do we do?

The aim of the team is to help St. Mary's fulfil the directive of the Bishop of Liverpool.

We encourage an all-inclusive Church-family worship. We provide the mediums for the adults to be more relaxed with the children they bring in by supplying items to occupy and interact with the children. We do not have hard and fast rules about age limits and have materials suitable for tots to lower junior age.

We have pew-bags to offer the tots, three and under, and clipboards for older children. The clipboards contain Bible-based colouring sheets for infant children and quizzes and word-searches suitable for children who are visiting and who are older than infants. Each family is invited to choose the medium they feel is the most appropriate for them.

The clipboards are changed weekly to correspond with the sermon theme.The pew-bags contain 'quiet' toys (lacing cards, jigsaws, threading discs, hand puppets etc.) and books with Old-Testament favourites such as Daniel in the Lions' Den, David and Goliath and Jonah and the Whale. Each bag is checked and cleaned weekly.

Thank you to St Benedicts College, Garston,for becoming involved in a project which will create newly designed pew/play bags for the under 3's to use at St Mary's. Well done!
